Biscuits

   

Baking Powder Biscuits

Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup milk


Directions

1 Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking
sheet.

2 In a bowl mix the flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in the shortening
until the mixture has onlt pea sized lumps. Add milk and mix until dry
mixture is aborbed. Drop dough by heaping spoonfuls onto prepared baking
sheet.

3 Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown.

FOR CHEESE BISCUITS: add 2 tsp white sugar to dry indregredients, use
only 1/4 cup of shortening. after cutting in shortening, add 2/3 cup
of shredded cheddar cheese (plus dried herbs, garlic)
